Douglas C. Neam

Vice President

Engineering

Since 2001 Doug Neam has provided executive leadership for many functions that support Ball Aerospace’s strategic business units. In his current role as Vice President of Engineering Doug is responsible for engineering, manufacturing and test operations, supply chain management, resource planning, and technology development. Doug is focused on developing and maintaining the company’s core technologies and on nurturing Ball Aerospace’s technical personnel.

Doug brings three decades of project management, system design and hardware experience to his current leadership role, including expertise in all phases of project engineering, fabrication and test.

Prior to his executive role Doug served as Program Manager of the James Webb Space Telescope Pre-Phase A & Phase I architecture studies initiative. He was Technical Manager of the Prospector program and Principal Engineer on the Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement (COSTAR) project for the Hubble Space Telescope.

Prior to joining Ball Aerospace in 1982, Doug worked at Martin Marietta on mechanical design for the Titan and Peacekeeper programs.

Doug holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Metropolitan State College, CO. He also completed an Associate’s degree in Aircraft Design at the Academy of Aeronautics.

In 2008 Doug was honored by the Women’s Vision Foundation as its Ally of the Year. He received this honor for his visible and active advocacy for women. He also co-chairs the Ball Aerospace’s Executive Diversity Council. Doug has received numerous awards during his career at Ball Aerospace including the coveted Follet Award for Excellence in System Engineering.
