Ball Aerospace Employees Join United Way for 2007 Day of Caring

BOULDER, Colo., Sept.,10, 2007 – Ball Aerospace employees joined with other local community members to contribute more than 2,600 volunteer hours to serve those in need as part of the Foothills United Way Annual Day of Caring on Friday, August 27.

As a leader in community giving, Ball Aerospace is proud to participate in one of the largest volunteer efforts of its kind in Boulder and Broomfield counties. In 2007, 29 companies and businesses gathered teams to work on 63 projects at 35 agencies and organizations. Projects varied from office work to painting to landscaping. The 2007 Day of Caring attracted more than 650 volunteers, who donated volunteer hours worth approximately $49,000.

Day of Caring involves employees in hands-on experience with United Way, raises awareness of community needs and services, and allows contributors to see how their dollars are spent. It is also a meaningful opportunity for employees to get to know each other outside of the workplace.

“Our participation in Day of Caring is another example of how our employees recognize the need to be actively involved in improving the lives of others,” said Jeff Osterkamp, Ball Aerospace’s executive liaison for United Way.
