WESTMINSTER, Colo.– Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. and Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] today showcased the F-35 Lightning II mobile cockpit demonstrator to state and local elected officials, community leaders, other stakeholders, news media and employees at the Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. “We are proud to provide critical technologies for the impressive F-35 Lightning II,” said David L. Taylor, Ball Aerospace president and CEO. “Ball’s advanced low-observable antenna suite for this 5th Generation multirole fighter supports the nation’s defense efforts by providing the best combination of stealth, high radio frequency performance, efficiency and affordability.”

Bob Rubino, Lockheed Martin, Director, Navy, F-35 Washington Operations, said, “We’re pleased to have this opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of the F-35 Lightning II, the world’s most advanced military aircraft, here in Colorado. The F-35 program will serve as the cornerstone of global security and will significantly impact the U.S. economy for many years to come.”

At today’s event, Lockheed Martin officials discussed the global security and economic benefits of the F-35 and provided a status update on the program. Members of the audience had the opportunity to “fly” the F-35 cockpit demonstrator, a visually and audibly interactive simulator that provides a realistic look at the F-35’s performance, air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities, sophisticated sensor fusion and advanced computational capabilities.
